Jaclyn Lieck

The idea that a space can communicate with users through its history, function and design is captivating to me.

Jaclyn Lieck approaches every project with a focus on the built environment's influence at the personal, collective, and environmental scales. She views every project holistically with all trades and systems in mind. This, paired with her strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve, leads her to create thoughtful, intentional spaces.

Jaclyn takes culture and context into account with each decision, which has resulted in international projects that not only meet the brief but tell impactful stories through interior finishes and details. Her methodical, analytical way of thinking has been especially beneficial on complex government projects such as those for the State Department's Bureau of Overseas Building Operations. Her work on the Peterson Management headquarters at 399 Park Avenue involved high levels of custom detailing and intensive MEP integration, demonstrating her expertise in coordinating between trades.

Since joining the firm's Building Science committee, Jaclyn has focused on improving Spacesmith's standards around building efficiency. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin.
