Who We Are- Young New Yorkers & Project Reset Virtual Exhibition

MOMA.png

A few of us at Spacesmith are on the Ambassador board for an incredible organization called Young New Yorkers. We are committed to using art to bring positive systematic change to the ways that teens and young adults are prosecuted in New York’s criminal legal system. Since 2012 over 1,800 young people have been sentenced to make art at Young New Yorkers instead of jail or other sanctions. We would be thrilled if you could join us on October 7 to support the graduates of the Young New Yorkers program during their first virtual exhibition. Here are the details below. Be sure to RSVP via the link.

We hope to see you there!

The YNY graduates, in partnership with MoMA PS1 and SHoP Architects, would absolutely LOVE for you to attend their very first virtual exhibition. It will feature over 300 artworks by YNY program participants and be a dazzling interactive, audio-visual experience that will allow each of you to engage with young people’s creativity and power. The exhibition will launch via Zoom with the graduates themselves leading us through the experience. In the past their exhibitions have allowed for powerful dialogue between criminal legal professionals and YNYs young people who have been impacted by the system. YNY will be hosting a graduate panel to recreate this experience in the virtual world.
