Madison Avenue Flagship Store
Spacesmith provided full architectural services for the 1,600 sf space, from design development and landlord coordination to the preparation of construction documents for permitting, bidding, and execution. The project scope focused on enhancing both the functionality and brand identity of the space. The team oversaw strategic updates to the storefront façade, including new signage. Interior renovations centered on the front-of-house area, where custom shelving was added along both side walls, a private VIP fitting room was created, and a new doorway was introduced to access the back-of-house.
Design development began with site evaluations and evolved through a series of 2D and 3D studies exploring layout, materiality, finishes, and furnishings. The resulting design strikes a balance between vintage charm and contemporary elegance: wooden shelving pairs with brass racks and glass display elements, while haberdashery cabinets sourced from Paris and London flea markets add a touch of retro character.
The team uncovered and restored original hardwood flooring, previously hidden beneath carpeting, while the client layered in muted area rugs to support intuitive way-finding. Crémieux’s signature navy blue is woven throughout the space, reinforcing brand identity. A custom bar introduces a hospitality-driven element to the shopping experience, and a dedicated Made to Measure area underscores the brand’s focus on personalization.
In the words of Stéphane Crémieux, “Through this new destination that blends fashion and hospitality, we aimed to present the finest aspects of our brand to the American market by recreating the intimate atmosphere of our European boutiques and providing the highest quality standards, which have always motivated us.”
The completed store now offers a refined and immersive retail environment, delivering a cohesive brand experience that resonates with both Crémieux’s heritage and its forward-looking vision.
