Spacesmith | Hudson
We believe that space is full of possibility.
The name Spacesmith reflects the historic tradition of great craftsmanship, a drive to deliver a heightened level of service, a passion for design excellence, and a sincere respect for context and the environment. Spacesmith is all about crafting meaningful places that move people. We want every project to achieve its highest potential and always apply our commitment, ingenuity and compassion to ensure that they do.
As a long-time Hudson resident, Jane Smith, the firm’s founding partner, has been an active leader in the city and served on the Historic Preservation Commission for two years. Due to Jane’s commitment to this multidimensional and vibrant city, it was a natural transition when Jane selected Hudson as the location for the firm’s second office. The Spacesmith | Hudson office will work in tandem with our main studio in New York City, and we are excited to offer our services and expand our portfolio in the Hudson Valley and Greater Capital Region, where private and public investment continues to grow.
Spacesmith creates the places where the world’s good work gets done.
As a firm, we are purposeful about the projects and clients we take on. We are committed to partnering with forward-thinking folks who are engaged in their communities. Our projects encompass public spaces that foster connections and directly serve their neighbors, as well as private ones that empower people to innovate, educate, thrive and inspire.
In addition to our love of brand new architecture, the Upstate Region has a rich collection of existing, historic buildings, and we want to be part of the team that reinvents them for future generations.
The Hudson Team
Spacesmith | Hudson is excited to partner with our new neighbors to help bring their projects to life. The best architecture can transform prosaic, everyday experiences into poetic rituals, and ultimately, that is what we hope to deliver. We recognize that communication between leadership and employees fosters creativity and productivity. We look for opportunities to facilitate various types of collaboration space in our designs.
