Creating spaces that move people - to connect, to create, and to achieve their highest potential.
The name Spacesmith reflects the historic tradition of great craftsmanship, a drive to deliver a heightened level of service, a passion for design excellence, and a sincere respect for context and the environment.
With a diverse portfolio and many repeat clients, Spacesmith has completed work for city, state, and federal agencies, schools, not-for-profits, and private sector clients in fashion, finance, and media. Founded in 1998, Spacesmith LLP is a New York City and State registered Women-owned Business Enterprise specializing in architecture, planning, and interior design.
The firm is guided by principles of open collaboration, social relevance, innovation, and design clarity. Spacesmith designs and builds according to their clients’ culture: the ethical, economic, and social principles of a community; the ebullience and creativity of a fashion designer; the technological needs of a corporate office. The architecture becomes an instrument through which people can relate to each other. It develops its own voice, one that is alive and in tune with the surrounding’s social and physical environment.
Spacesmith is committed to providing efficient, comfortable, and environmentally sensitive environments. Projects created by Spacesmith embrace sophisticated solutions that are timeless and contextual. Through every step of the project process, Spacesmith remains sensitive to clients’ business and design objectives, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to exceeding expectations. The end result is clean, enduring design.
In 2011 Spacesmith formed an alliance with Davis Brody Bond, one of the nation’s leading architectural design firms. This unique partnership provides both entities with additional resources to deliver architecture and design services across a wide range of sectors. The two firms are aligned under one roof to strengthen and expand creative boundaries.
